I'm still trying to get the full history of the piano.
Here's what I know so far:

  • 1978,1979 Constructed.
  • 1979 Baldwin sold it new. (I assume they sold it directly to Billy)
  • 1979 Possibly on "52nd Street" tour (Europe, Cuba, N. America and Japan) with Billy?
  • 1980 Possibly on "Glass Houses" Tour (Europe, N. America) with Billy?
  • 1981 Australia in May. (There are Australian cities written on the plate - Perth, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane, all in May of 1981. Billy was on his "Glass Houses" tour then - Australia, New Zealand, Japan).
  • 1982 Billy used it on his North American "Nylon Curtain" tour.
  • 1983 I won it in a Sam Goody raffle (actually on 12/31/82)
  • 1983-1999 At my parents house in Staten Island, NY
  • 1999-2005 At my house in Denver, CO
  • 2005-present At my house in Grand Rapids, MI

The following is speculation, I'm working on confirmation:

  1. I assume Baldwin sold the piano directly to Billy in 1979. (Would he have bought it used, later? I don't think so)
  2. If that's true, then the piano was most likely on "52nd Street" and "Glass Houses" tours, as well.
  3. Since the piano was in Australia in 1981 (cities on the plate), then it was probably also in New Zealand and Japan.

I'm attempting to get confirmation from either Billy, his managment or his keyboard tech at the time, Wayne Williams.
    Any help would be appreciated...
