So, you may be asking, "What's the condition of this 1978 Baldwin piano?"

Well, I'm not a concert pianist, but I've been playing since I was 15 or so, and would give the following assesment: the action is close to a new piano (I can't play fast enough to notice any lag), and the sound is still as awesome as when I first got it. The bass notes on a grand piano are SO much nicer to the ear than an upright, or even a baby grand.

It's been tuned about once every two years while it was on Staten Island (1983-1999), then I had it moved to Denver, until 2004 (It's now in Michigan). I try to tune it twice a year, but that's been more like once a year...it holds a tuning well and doesn't start sounding 'off' until a year or so goes by. It was re-voiced after the move to Denver, and has broken back in nicely. (It has a 'bright' sound, which I like) One of the bass strings was replaced soon after I got it (1984-5) when it broke while tuning. The remainder of the strings are original. The exterior is just as Billy left it (it's a little beat up from so many concerts) and the internals are in very good, playing condition. See the pictures in the gallery to get a closer look at the various parts.
